Debra Davis James was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 10th , 2025, at UK Medical Center. She was of the Christian faith.
She was born on March 17, 1960, in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Max R. Davis and Erline Taylor Davis. She lived most of her life in Burnside, Kentucky and her later years in the Jabez Community.
She is survived by her husband, Jonathan James who she married on October 5, 2012 but spent 17 years together.
She is also survived by survived by two daughters, Candice (Wess) Daulton of Burnside, KY and Celena (Chris Myers) Smith of Burnside, KY; three sons, Max Hampton of Jabez, KY, Preston (Charlene) James of Lynchburg, VA and Jesse (Sam) James of Somerset, KY.
Her grandchildren who she adored most; Austin Daulton, Natalie Daulton, Cee Cee Daulton, Carson James, Cayden James, Conner Mills, Cameron Mills, Chloe Mills, Ryan McKiddy, Brittany McKiddy and CJ Myers. She is also survived by two brothers, Gary Davis and Lynn Davis both of Somerset, KY; three sisters-in-law, Cindy Davis of Somerset, Jeanetta James of Somerset and Jamie (Rick Stotler) James of Xenia, OH; and her precious animals, Miley, Rilo and Dolly who was always at her side.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Erline Davis; granddaughter, Angel Daulton; three brothers, Eddie Davis, Randy Davis and Tommy Davis; and two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Davis and Donna Davis.
Family was at the center of her world. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her greatest joy came from traveling with her husband, Jonathan. Together they built a life filled with adventure, attending numerous sports events for their grandchildren, and indulging in hobbies that brought them closer such as kayaking, boating and four wheeling. Debbie’s love for music was evident as she frequently attended shows and concerts, dancing and singing along with her contagious smile and her beautiful blue eyes that could light up any room.
She was a 1978 Burnside High School graduate. She was known as a Lady General, where she played basketball and forged friendships with her teammates that lasted a lifetime. In her professional life, Debbie dedicated 24 years to TTAI where she was admired for her hard work and commitment and also for the friendships she made.
Debbie’s passion for animals was evident. She made it her mission to help every animal she could. In honor of her devotion, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of Somerset, Pulaski County Animal Shelter or rescue of your choice.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, July 19th , 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Shelter 2 Pulaski County Park in Nancy, KY. There will be a short service with laughter and sharing memories of the beautiful soul who touched so many lives. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
