Rosie Mae (Rose) Haynes Hamm, age 72, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
She was born on June 7, 1954 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Howard and Mary Mae (Waddle) Haynes.
Rosie was of the Baptist faith, a very outdoors person, loved flowers and gardening. She retired from Kroger. Her greatest love of her life was her husband of 54 years and her best friend. Along with her husband, another love of her life was her daughter, Melissa “Missy” Hamm Gray, (husband Rob), and two grandsons: Austin and Remington.
Along with her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by her brothers: William “Bill” Haynes, Gerald Haynes, Harold Haynes, Curtis Haynes, Kenneth Haynes, sisters: Helen Dean Waddle, Imogene Rose and Carolyn Sue Decker.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Nickey J. Hamm, whom she married on October 30, 1971 in Somerset, Ky, daughter Melissa “Missy” Gray (Rob), grandsons Austin Thomas Gray (Lauryn) and Remington Ryan Gray; along with special friends: Bert (Arlene Jasper) Young, Joe Guerrero (Karen), Melody Spears, and a special dog “Joker”.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 from 10:30am-12:30pm in the Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral service to begin at 12:30pm.
Private graveside service will be held at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
