Mae Delk age 97, of Tick Ridge Community in Nancy, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Liberty Care Center.
Mae was born on February 5, 1928 to the late William Caleb Hargis and Viola Stogsdill Hargis in Ottenheim Community in Lincoln County, Kentucky.
She was a member of Pleasant Point Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, word searches, watching UK Basketball and fishing.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents William and Viola Hargis, her husband Herman Delk, daughter Sheila Kaye Delk, sons: Danny Delk, William Rollin Delk and Randall Lee Delk, brothers: Delmar Hargis, Edgar Hargis, Edward Hargis and Luther Hargis, sisters: Christine Oaks, Ruth Wallace, Myrtle Dickerson and granddaughter Robin Delk.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons: Allen Richard Delk and James Royce Delk (Kaye) all of Nancy, Ky; daughter Shirley McQuarter of Nancy, Ky; sister Ethel Oaks of Crawfordsville, IN; daughter-in-law Patsy Delk of Laurinburg, NC; grandchildren: Shad Delk, Tracy McQuarter, Shanda Brown (Travis), Evan Delk (Jennifer), Scott McQuarter (Laura); great-grandchildren: William Stevens, Emily Stevens, Caitlyn Stevens, Alyson Stevens, Lincoln Covert, Everett Covert, Jolie Brown, Briston Brown, Lillian Delk, Addie Delk, Sophie Delk, Johnathan McQuarter and Ashley McQuarter.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 12pm-2pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 2pm with Bro. Johnny Mounce and Bro. Patrick Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Point Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cedar Point Cemetery Fund.

Shirley & Richard hate to hear of your lost. She was a fine women. I enjoyed going to church with her. I know she was the light of your world. May the Lord hold you both in his arms and give you peace in at this time of your lose.
We were so sorry to hear about Mae’s passing. Ralph and I thought the world of her.He wanted to come see her, but his illness kept that from happening. Now he only has good memories left of her. Our prayers go out to the family.
