Tami Stout- age 57, relocated her residence from this life to her eternal home on May 3rd, 2017 after a short illness.
Tami entered this world on Feb. 13, 1960 to the care of her parents, Johnnie & Dean Adams. She joined an older brother, Rodney, & was followed later by a younger sister, Terri & baby brother, Ken Adams.
Throughout her life, Tami pursued the noble quests of motherhood, friendship, Nursing, & serving her Lord with an uncommon vigor & commitment as noted by the stream of visitors that came to offer their support and assistance during her brief illness.
Tami began her adult life with her marriage to Jim Ed Stout on Sept. 13, 1976. She began her lifelong journey of motherhood with the birth of her daughter, Lakia & grand motherhood with the birth of her granddaughter, Evie Sage. Her love for her family was one of the driving forces in her life.
She gave her heart to the Lord at the age of 31 & lived out her faith in a multitude of capacities throughout the church & community.
She was a foundational partner in the Potter’s Place Church & Ministries. She was a primary & vital encourager, supporter & confidant to her pastors, Clyde & Wendy Strunk. She was the teacher of the “Women of Clay” Sunday School class, teacher of specialty classes for the Body of Christ, such as Dave Ramsey’s Financial Management & had an unreached goal of ministering/teaching Financial Management along with assisting the educational director in a larger capacity once she retired. She was also the Creator/Director of the Potter’s Place yearly Women’s Retreat, assistant for the yearly Women’s Tea & was awarded “Woman of the Year” by the Potter’s Place congregation in 2011.
She was a faithful friend, Mentor & steadfast encourager to anyone who stayed in her path long enough for her to find out their name. Whether a lifelong friend, a new found friend, a stranger in need, Tami was there to pray, search, comfort, encourage & give whatever was needed as long as you were willing to help yourself.
Her faithfulness to pray led to the trust of many with problems too big for one person to handle. Her church family called her the “Scripture Lady”. She rose early to pray and would write down scriptures as the Lord impressed her during her prayer time. Invariably, the folks that crossed her path during her day, would be the ones for which those scriptures were intended. They never left her without the help they needed.
She was a faithful, committed employee for Lifeline/LHC GROUP since 2004 where she held the position of Ky. State Marketing Development Director. She was known throughout the multi-state company for her faith, commitment, selfless support of others & fierce determination. She leaves behind a host of special work friends.
In the midst of all this living, should a spare moment present itself, Tami’s (Miss Priss) treasured times were jumping in the car, hitting the road to anywhere with her main squeeze “Head Daddy”, husband Jim Ed or planning parties with her “Sagebrush” her Granddaughter, Evie Sage.
Tami is preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Adams, her paternal grandparents, Carrol & Nannie Adams, & her maternal grandparents Vola & Georgia Harrison.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Ed Stout, Daughter, Lakia Stout, granddaughter, Evie Sage Eastham, her mother & stepfather – Dean & Hobart Stout, Brothers- Rodney Adams & Ken (Melanie) Adams, a sister-Terri (Wayne) Harrison. She is also survived by her nieces Johnnica (Jason) Bullock, Heather Noe, Bethany Harrison, E.C. Dick, Alexis Adams, Ashley Babbitt & Lacreshia Adams. Her nephews included Marcus Harrison, Eric Clark, Brett Adams, & a host of nieces & nephews from the Stout family too numerous to name. Tami is also survived by her special friends, Alma & Shane Thurman.
Tami was truly a “Woman of Clay” created by the Almighty to become a Vessel of honor & beauty in His courts of Heaven. Her journey is now complete.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 beginning at 11:00 A.M. at Potter’s Place Church & Ministries with funeral services at 1:30 P.M. at the church.
Burial will follow in Southern Oaks Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Gideon’s Memorial Bible Plan.

There are really no words to take away the awful hurt so deep in your hearts. After reading this obituary, I realized I knew so little of her Christian walk since I have not lived in Somerset for 45 years. Oh there are so many things about Tami that I find comforting and I know Jesus has welcomed her with open arms saying “Welcome home, my good and faithful servant.” Yes she will be missed terribly, but what a homecoming there will be! I love you all and consider it an honor to have called Tami and her brothers and sister my “double cousin”. And to whoever wrote the obituary, thank you for sharing Tami’s Christian walk.
Terri & family: I am so sorry for your loss. I remember your sister, Tami quite well. She would come to the office where you and I worked to see you or meet you to take you to lunch. Or she would call and ask to speak to you. I certainly cherished our conversations. She certainly was loved by all who knew her. And I am so glad I got to know her. She was such a beautiful lady. On behalf of myself, and your former co-workers at Lake Cumberland Home Health, Terri you and each of your family have our deepest sympathy, love and prayers.
