Charles Anthony “Chuck” Waters, 75, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2026.
 
Chuck was born on July 23, 1950, in Somerset, Kentucky, to the late Mark and Dora Waters.
 
He is survived by his devoted wife, June Waters; his son, Chad (Shawnda) Waters; and his daughter, Hope (Tim) Croxton. He also leaves behind five beloved grandchildren: Darren Waters, Michael Waters, Landon Thurman, Nathan Thurman, and Katelyn Thurman, who were among the greatest joys of his life.
 
Chuck is also survived by his siblings, Markie Nevels, Ronnie Waters, Jean (Walt) Ross, Ken (Diane) Waters, George (Geneva) Waters, and Becky (David) Gregory; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Billy (Aida) Sweet, Charlcie Haggard, Faye Byrd, Lonnie Sweet, and Jerry (Shaun) Sweet; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob Waters and Rudy Waters, and his infant sister, Judy Waters.
 
Chuck retired after 32 years of dedicated service as an employee of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He was a member of Langdon Street Baptist Church and attended Beacon Hill Baptist Church as long as his health allowed.
 
An avid outdoorsman, Chuck found joy in hunting, fishing, and camping. He was also a devoted fan of Kentucky basketball. More than anything, he treasured spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them about the outdoors and sharing the hobbies and traditions he loved throughout his life.
 
Chuck will be remembered for his love of family, his unwavering faith, his quiet strength, and the countless memories he created with those who knew and loved him. His legacy will live on in the lives of his family and all who were blessed to know him.
 
A procession will depart Southern Oaks on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. and arrive at Sardis Cemetery for a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Keith Adams.
