Gwen was a precious cousin on the Tarter side of the family. She was so much like our grandmother, Mom Tarter.
Thankful that she is with Jesus singing with that beautiful voice.

Bro. Jimmy York
So sorry for your loss we all went to church together my girls went to the Christian school at science Hill Baptist Church my wife Robbie volunteered in the school she worked with Gwen at the school it’s coming as a shock to me I am so sorry for your loss I lost Robbie about Three years ago I will keep you and your family in My prayers
One thing I always remembered about Gwen Chitwood-Carr…We went to Saline grade school together for a couple of grades, and she was so smart, they skipped her to the next grade up! Even at that age, that impressed me so much! I attended the 3rd and 4th grade there.
But the years and miles between us, separated our paths and around 2006, after moving back to Somerset area, having been gone 30 years, we reconnected when my family attended Somerset Temple Baptist led by Bro David.
Re-meeting her was a blessing, and I asked her how she got so smart back then. She said her ‘sisters’ were unrelentless and always teaching her, and made her learn! Good job girls!
But my what a sweet spirited, talented, beautiful woman inside and out, she had become! Like her Mother, Mrs Pauline, she had a true servant’s heart, especially in her service for the Lord, her husband, and her children. She showed love for everyone. She never had a harsh word, and was always ready to help anyone in need. She was a friend.
We are sending our heartfelt condolences to Bro David and all her family and friends! May God Bless you all through this rough time, and till we meet again!
I’m so sorry, loved to hear her singing. Prayers for you, your family and friends
Brother David, I am so sorry to hear about Miss Gwen but I know she is in a much better place. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all the family.
Gwen was a Beautiful soul. She was always the same. Such a honor to have met her. Prayers and Hugs to all the family. Gone but not forgotten. Amanda Cunningham
I went to their church when it started in a store front in downtown Somerset. The when they built a church on 39. She was always so kind and I loved hearing her sing. Prayers for the family.
We met Sister Gwen when you folks were here in :Paducah for a meeting. We sat at a table and had refreshments with her. We have listened to King of Kings radio ever since, and have truly enjoyed hearing Gwen and Bro. David sing. She seemed to be such a sweet lady–WE could see Jesus on her face. I know she will be greatly missed. But what a blessing to remember that Christians do not “grieve as those who have no hope .” One of these days we will all be together “in the Father’s house”, singing praises to Jesus and enjoying Heaven. God bless you all, especially Sister Carolyn and Bro.David. In Christ’s love,
Russell and Susan Hobbs.

My sweet cousin Gwen. I remember all the Sundays we shared a Grandma Chitwoods. How did we all fit in that tiny house? Gwen & my sister Susie were two of the youngest and two of the most gentle, kind souls of us all. Gwen will be celebrated by every person who was blessed to be related to her,to have known her or touched by her presence in any way. My deepest sympathy to her family.
David & family, I’m so sorry I can’t be at Gwen’s service. I am out of state visiting our daughter. Much love & uplifting prayers are coming from Colorado.
Sorry to hear about the passing of Gwen. She seems like a very sweet person and I am sure she will be missed deeply.
Praying for the family 🙏🙏🙏
