Richard Lee Smith, age 76, of Frazier, Kentucky, passed from this life on Monday, August 24, 2026 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Richard was born on February 12, 1950 in Frazier, Kentucky to the late Samuel Hubert Smith and Louise Hines Smith.
He enjoyed fishing, watching UK Basketball, playing guitar and singing, listening to music, especially rock and roll. And most of all, he loved and cherished his grandbabies.
Along with his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother Larry Dean Smith.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children, Richard Lee Smith Jr, Dawn Deanna Smith, and Samuel Hubert Smith all of Frazier; brothers: Bruce Carol Smith of St. Louis and David Smith of Bronston, Ky; sister Sandra Elouise Smith of Frazier, Ky; grandchildren Korey Smith, Samantha Reynolds (William Creger), Zachary Smith, Kaitlin (Nijal) Fitzpatrick, Bishop Gastineau, Summer Smith, great-grandchildren: Jaxson, Jeremiah, Isabella, Nijal Jr., Elijah, Niquan, Braven, Zane, DJ, Luca, Ezrah, Maddox, Asher, Charlie and Khilee.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 209 Taylor Cemetery Rd. Monticello, KY 42633. The family is requesting that everyone attending bring a dish and/or flowers.
