Jerry D. Hargis, age 76, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at his home.
Jerry was born on November 20, 1949 to the late Edgar Hargis and Louann Hargis in Somerset, Kentucky.
He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, especially deer hunting and loved being outside. He enjoyed listening to all types of music. He loved his children most of all.
Along with his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Hargis and a sister Sandy Frye.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons: Jeramy Felton-Hargis (Tiffany) of TN; Dustin Hargis (Kayla) of Liberty, Ky; Michael Hargis (Christina) and Jonathan Hargis (Ivy) both of Somerset; Tyler Armstrong of MI; daughter Nancy Travis (John) of TN; brother Jimmy Hargis (Linda) of Liberty, Ky; sister, Dena Mayfield (Denver) of Burnside, Ky; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 2pm at Southern Oaks Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Jerry D. Hargis.
