Mary “Liz” Elizabeth Dick, age 91, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
Liz was born on July 7, 1935 to the late Larry C. Silvers and Ruby T. Gibson Silvers in Frazer, Kentucky
She attended East Somerset Baptist Church. She was beyond a devoted wife. James and Liz were always together they had a very special love story; Family was everything to them. They opened their home to all who needed a place to stay. Her work at Finley’s Drive In, over the many years led to a host of many friends who became like family. She loved working there.
Along with her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her husband, James Dick, brother Willard Silvers and sister, Jane Silvers and nephew David Dick.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sister Nancy Silvers Taylor of Gainesville, FL; nephew Johnny Dick (Stacy) of Monticello; niece, Juanelle Smith (Scott) of Monticello, Ky and niece Sherry Dick (wife of late David Dick) of Eubank, Ky; along with a host of special friends and family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 11:30am-2pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Graveside service will directly follow visitation at Mill Springs National Cemetery with Dean Collins officiating.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Mary “Liz” Elizabeth Dick.
May Mary Liz rest in peace in Heaven. Her James will be happy to see her again. They were the perfect loving couple.
She was a wonderful lady!
She will be missed by family and friends!

I have very fond memories of Mary Liz and James from my childhood. We extend our deepest sympathies to Mary Liz’s family and her dear sister Nancy. She was very sweet and lovable and will be missed terribly. We take great comfort in knowing that her and James are together once again.
You will be missed, Mary Liz, but knowing you’re with James and others in our family you loved makes our heart happy.
Dave and I will always remember our time in Daytona with you and James filled with laughter and smiles and Kentucky tomatoes!
