William A. Irvin, 71 of Somerset, KY passed away on August 20, 2026, surrounded by his children.
 
He was born to parents, Layton Hanes and Julia Ann Bowling Irvine on October 23, 1954 in Hamilton, Ohio. William graduated from New Miami High School in Hamilton, Ohio.
 
He married the love of his life, Kathey Sue Daulton on August 18, 1979 who survives him. William is also survived by his daughters, Christie (Frank) Begley, Denise (Bridget) Hegge both Somerset, Ky, a son Bobby (Jessie James) Irvin of Richmond, Ky. Grandchildren: April (Christian) Alexander, Aaron Brown, Dakota Hegge, Aiden Putteet, Carson and Anthony Hegge, three great-grandchildren: Tanner, Waylon, and Peyton Alexander. His special dog “Beans”. William also leaves behind his nieces and nephews who were so special to him, Becky (Jim) Couch, Chris (Bridget) Irvine, Mark (Mandy) Irvine, and Jacinda Eldridge, and several other nieces and nephews he also cherished. William also leaves behind his wife’s family: Tim (Patty) Daulton, Michael (Sandy) Daulton, Travis (Kim) Daulton and Rita Faye Troxell, Janell Meadows; along with a host of family and friends to mourn his passing.
 
William was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles (Chuck) Irvine, sister-in-law, Brenda McNew Irvine who was like a sister to him, she could always keep him straight on things father and mother-in-law Lowell and Lela Daulton, brother-in-law, Clyde Troxell, niece Jackie Irvine Vandeventer, and nephew Steven Troxell and a host of others he looks forward to reuniting with.
 
William worked for Oakwood in his earlier years then moved on to Eastern State then finishing up with the State of Kentucky for 30 years, where he made many wonderful friends and great memories. William stated he lived a good life with ups and downs like everyone. His family was his greatest love. To know William was to know him no other words are needed.
 
The family would like to thank Hospice of Lake Cumberland and Signature McCreary for their kindness and compassion for William and to everyone who visited and supported the family during this time.
 
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026 from 11am-1pm in the Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral service to begin at 1pm with Bro. Rick Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Heavenly View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dakota Hegge, Austin Daulton, Toby Troxell, Neal Daulton, Derek Pucket and Chris Irvine.
