In Loving Memory of Kenneth “Kenny” Lee Steele

Kenneth “Kenny” Lee Steele, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Aug.12 2026. Kenny was born June 7, 1961 in Wayne County, Kentucky to Essie Steele and Lorraine Lair.

Kenny was a free spirit who lived life in his own way. For 25 years, he worked in masonry, a trade he truly loved and took great pride in. Outside of work, Kenny enjoyed baseball, fishing, and most importantly, his Catholic faith.

Those who knew Kenny will remember his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to find a reason to smile, no matter what situation life placed him in. He always seemed to have a smile on his face and a joke ready to share. Kenny had a big heart and loved his family deeply. Although life and circumstances sometimes separated him from the people he loved, in his heart, what Kenny truly wanted was a family and the feeling of belonging that came with it.

Kenny will be lovingly remembered by his sister Tammy McLin, his nieces, Jennifer and Nathan McMahon, Amber and Travis Gillilan, his nephews, Anthony and Jason Steele, all of Somerset; and Brian and Kelly Bell of Monticello. Along with many great nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorriane Lair; his father, Essie Steele; his stepfather Bill York, his brother Gary Steele; and his sister, Vicky Steele and Kathy Taylor, and a nephew Nicholas Steele.

Kenny leaves behind memories of laughter, fishing trips, baseball, hard work, faith, and the many jokes and smiles he shared along the way. Though he is no longer with us, the love he had for his family and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Kenny will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. May he rest peacefully in the presence of God and find peace he always longed for.
