Listen to the Obituary
Gloria Ousley Bronston, 79, gained her angel wings on October 11, 2026, following a brief illness. She passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy defined by hard work, resilience and an unwavering devotion to her family.
Gloria was born in Floyd County, Kentucky, to the late George and Hazel Wyatt. She grew up in a modest home in a hollow in Eastern Kentucky, a place that shaped her strong character, humility, and deep appreciation for family. Growing up in a large, bustling household, she preceded in death by her beloved five brothers and one sister.
From Those humble beginnings, Gloria built a life of remarkable achievement through her immense drive, sharp intelligence, and entrepreneurial spirt. She was a familiar and trusted face in local finance, working for many years at the Bank of Lexington. Her passion for helping others and her sharp business acumen also led her to become a successful realtor and a small business owner. She broke barriers and worked tirelessly in every endeavor she pursued.
Upon retiring, Gloria eagerly moved to Somerset to fulfill her heart’s greatest desire: to be closer to her son and grandchildren.
While she achieved great professional success, Gloria’s true crowning glory was her family. She was the ultimate matriarch, remembered by those closest to her for providing unconditional love and fierce support throughout her entire life. Gloria loved all her friends, nieces, and nephews deeply, but her greatest joy was found in her grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent watching Katelyn, Zachary, and Luke grow up into the remarkable young adults they are today.
Gloria is survived by her devoted son, Greg Ousley, and her daughter-in-law, Stephanie, who stood by her with love. She also leaves behind her three treasured grandchildren, Katelyn, Zachary, and Luke, alongside a wonderful community of extended family members and lifelong friends who will miss her vibrant presence every day.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the hospice nurses and staff who took such exceptionally good care of Gloria in her last days of life, providing her with comfort, dignity and peace. No services will be held.
