Steven A. Whitter age 63, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Friday, January 1, 2021 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Steven was born December 19, 1957 to Rev. Delmar Whitter and Laverne Smith Whitter in Hamilton, Ohio.
He married his wife, Catherine Elaine Waddle on June 23, 1979 at Buck Creek Baptist Church. They shared 41 years of marriage together. Steven was a member of Canaan Baptist Church. He worked for Tecumseh for 20 years and retired from Amon’s Bakery. He loved old cars, Somernites Cruises, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Delmar Whitter, brother, Bobby Whitter and mother and father-in-law, Odell and Roberta Colyer Waddle.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Laverne Smith Whitter, his loving wife, Catherine Elaine Whitter, brother, Brian (Alpha) Whitter of Eubank, sisters, Pat (Bro. Ed) Massey, Leshia (JR) Meece both of Science Hill, brother-in-law, Gene (Sherry) Waddle of Alcalde, Ky, sister-in-laws, Debbie Whitter of Somerset, Patricia Dimsmore of Alcalde, Ky along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Brian Plants, Bro. Jim McKinney and Bro. Ed Massey officiating, burial will follow in the Southern Oaks Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jackie McKinney, Jon McKinney, Brian Whitter, Josh Whitter, Roger Colyer and JR Meece.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Steven A. Whitter.
I was saddened to hear of Steve’s passing. He always had a smile and a very kind person. It was always good to see him and Elaine together. They were very close and loved each other very much. He will be greatly missed. Much love and prayers to you Elaine and all the family. Amanda🌹

Steve and I were buddies. We would talk about how the world had changed and then say “guess we were just old fashioned.” LOL. Steve always had a song in his heart and I am going to miss him dearly. Steven Allen, Save me a seat!

Steve was such a good person I always enjoyed talking to him because he was so positive about everything never having a negative word to say about anything . If we could all live our life like Steve . My Prayers go out to his family and may God Bless you all .
