John R. Monde age 87, of Tateville, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, June 18, 2026.
John was born in Tateville, Kentucky to the late Roy R. Monde and Mary May Hines Monde on October 25, 1938.
He enjoyed target practicing, hunting, fishing, and was of the Christian faith. He worked at Kingsford for 30 years from where he retired. He most of all cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Alice Monde, brothers Arnold Lee Monde and Donald E. Monde, sisters Mary Frances Schwier and Shirley J. Monde.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, John Arnold Monde (Rochella) of Bronston, Ky; daughters: Alice E. Monde-Taylor (Kevin) of Somerset, Ky and Rhonda J. Epperson of Tateville; sister Vernie Elizabeth Nicholas of Ohio; grandchildren: Jonathan Chitwood, Austin Epperson, Ashley Epperson and Emily Monde; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 12pm to 2pm in the Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral service to begin at 2pm with Bro. Perry Dobbs officiating. Burial will follow in Burnside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Taylor, Eddie Phelps, John Monde, Austin Epperson and Jonathan Chitwood.
