Joseph (Joe) Beaumier took the road home on August 22nd 2026. Joe leaves behind his loving wife Mary of 47 years and his son Michael, brothers David and his wife Carla, Robert and his wife Keli, sisters Jean and her husband Brian and Sandra and her husband Robert and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind dear friends from around the world.
Bron August 10th 1958 in Worcester, Massachusetts to Joe and Shirley Beaumier, Joe led and amazing life. After high school he entered the United States Air Force. His duty stations included Guam, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH where he met his bride, Zaragoza, Spain where his son was born and Loring AFB, ME where he retired. Numerous deployments gave Joe the opportunity to make friends around the world. After military service he worked in finishing his degrees in Accounting and Finance and worked for Defense Finance and Accounting Service. The job took him from Maine to Germany, and to Indiana, where he retired again. After a review of all the states we had seen, Kentucky became our home of choice.
Joe had one passion, if there was a motor attached, he liked it. Antique cars, trucks and motorcycles were a passion. He loved going to car shows and drag races. Before retiring he collected motorcycles, said they were easier to move. After retirement, he started collecting cars, a 71 GTO convertible just to drive around, a 56 Handyman station wagon to take on long trips around Kentucky and a 77 T bird, because it was between our graduation years. He could talk for hours about card and motorcycles to anyone.
Joe was generous and caring. He was also opinionated, stubborn, and difficult at times. But he loved his family and his country. He always tried to see the best in people and was always looking at ways to improve circumstances for others. His love of country extended to the Wounded Warrior Project and other Veteran organizations.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Floyd officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
