Janet G. Valentour, age 62, of Burnside, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Janet was born on June 4, 1963 to the late George T. Valentour and Clara Helton Valentour in Whitley City, Kentucky.
She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Neeley’s Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed raising and trail riding horses. She loved motorcycle riding with her best friend, her husband. She was a talented quilter and was known for making baby blankets.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her daughter, Jessica Valentour-Richardson.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 49 years, Rosston Valentour, son George Rosston Valentour of Burnside; grandchildren: Tyler Valentour, Skyler Richardson, Khloe Colyer, Aubrey Colyer, and great-granddaughter, Flora Valentour.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 5pm-8pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 11am at the funeral home with Bro. Buddy Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Valentour Family Cemetery in Burnside.
