Brenda Sue New, age 77 of Bronston, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

She was born on March 16, 1947 in Pulaski County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Esker and Rena Dalton Crabtree. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church #2 for 63 years. Sue was a homemaker and enjoyed going camping, traveling and being outdoors. She loved going on Carnival Cruises with her family and enjoyed her Sunday outings with them as well.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jack Crabtree, Fred Crabtree and Richard Crabtree; sisters, Barbara Keith, Faye Strunk, Roberta Mayfield and Lee Etta Nicholas.

She is survived by her husband, of 56 years JC New, whom she married on November 25, 1967 in Ringgold, Georgia; son Troy Jay (Tammy) New of Bronston; brothers, Billy Crabtree of Bronston and Roger Crabtree or Lorain, Ohio; grandchildren, Vanessa (Matt) Burton and Matt (Ashley) Sutherland; great-grandchildren, Braxton Burton, Bryton Burton, Benton Burton, Abigail Sutherland, Christian Andrew and Haley Renee.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Chester New and Bro. Scott Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Southern Oaks Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matt Sutherland, Matt Burton, Braxton Burton, Bryton Burton, Benton Burton and Christian Andrew.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
