Larry Lyons, age 66 of Nancy, Kentucky, passed from this life on June 30, 2017 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born June 11, 1951 at his home in Faubush to the late James and Lorene Weddle Lyons. Mr. Lyons was employed with Tecumseh for 27 ½ years and retired from the maintenance department at Somerset Community College. During his free time, Larry loved to spend his time watching NASCAR on Sundays, farming, and most of all, wrestling with his great-grandson.
Mr. Lyons is survived by his wife of 48 years; Kay Compton Lyons whom he married on December 23, 1969, from this union, they were blessed with a daughter; Teresa and husband Roy Chumbley of Russell Springs, one grandson; Dustin (Kourtney) Bradley of Somerset, one great-grandson; Westin Bradley. He is also survived by four brothers; Keith (Krystal) Lyons, Robbie (Crystal) Lyons, Terry (Kim) Lyons all of Nancy, and Stanley Lyons of Somerset, two sisters; Judy (James) Wilkerson of Somerset, and June Tompkins of Nancy, and one niece; Ashley Tarter of Russell Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; James and Lorene Weddle Lyons, two brothers; Timmy Lyons and Raleigh Lyons, two grandchildren; JR Chumbley and Mark Bradley Jr.
Visitation for Mr. Lyons will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM with funeral services to follow at 2:00 PM all to be held in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Thomas Cemetery directly following the funeral services.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Larry Russell Lyons.
