Lela Faye Taylor, age 87, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
She was born on August 10, 1939 in Mintonville, Kentucky, daughter of the late George and Elsie Moore New.
She was a member of Science Hill Church of the Nazarene and a member of Science Hill Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Lewis Taylor; brothers, Delmer New, Elmer New, Noble New, James New, Paul David New, and Valando New; sisters, Lola Spears, Ida Dick, and Marie Yaden.
She is survived by her son, Eddie Taylor of Science Hil; grandchildren, Nicole (Brad) Cassada, Jordan Taylor; great-grandchildren, Talon, Cole, Konner, Baleigh, Kolton, and Kentin; and very special friends, Jimmy and Pat Wilson.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. on Friday in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Smith officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
