Robert Dewey Thompson, age 72 of Monticello, Kentucky passed from this life Sunday, October 27, 2019 at his home.

He was born April 13, 1947 to the late Ephraim Thompson and Linda Jones Thompson in the Zion Community of Wayne County, Kentucky.

Robert was a member of Denham Street Baptist Church. He loved his flowers and garden, and loved to eat. He was a middle school teacher at Wayne County Middle School and also taught at Big Sinking Elementary. He visited the nursing homes every Sunday and never missed a Sunday in thirty- five years. He was a Church pianist all of his life, he loved the Lord and loved his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward Thompson; sisters, Hazel Hall; Lucille Troxtell; Iva Thompson; Rosetta Thompson; and granddaughter, Sara Thompson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Joyce Morrow Thompson; sons, Keith (Amy) Thompson of Bronston; Darren (Toni) Thompson of Burnside; brothers, Vernon (Marilyn) Thompson of Ohio; James (Lynn) Thompson of Alabama; sister, Lilly Bolen of Somerset; grandchildren, Keonna Thompson; Cassie Thompson; Katie Thompson and their mother Melissa Thompson; Alayna Thompson; Camryn Thompson; and Kade Thompson.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Denham Street Baptist Church from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M.

A funeral service will be Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Denham Street Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Griffith officiating.

Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Wayne County, Kentucky.
