John T. Baker, Jr., age 83, of Burnside, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at his residence.
He was born on November 1, 1935 in Seattle, Washington, son of the late John T. and Adele Springer Baker.
John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He was passionate and very active in Recovery Ministries and was a member of Mt. Union Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Baker; one son, John Tyler III (and Stephanie) Baker of Eubank; three daughters, Catherine Collins of Puyallup, Washington, Joan Marie Smith of Burnside and Mary Diane (and Martin) Lunbeck of Sacramento, California; nine grandchildren, Brian Collins, Shannon Collins, Jonathan Collins, Angela Collins, Patricia Jean Smith, Jonathan Morton, Mitchell Lunbeck, Michelle Lunbeck and Makayla Baker; and two great-grandchildren, Mae Lunbeck and Jhonen Collins.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2019 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with funeral service to be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Bro. Perry Dobbs officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Union Cemetery.

Iam so sorry for your loss and to the community. He dedicated so much of his time to what you and I believe in and he will be missed by many, I will not be able to attend the service but my prayers are with you and the family
John was a pillar to so many and touched hearts as he walked gracefully, humbly, and shared his love for life in JESUS.
