Leeta Ann Ashbrook Henderson, age 85, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
She was born on December 17, 1933 in Somerset, Kentucky, daughter of the late Harry and Bertha Daulton Ashbrook.
Leeta enjoyed artwork, drawing, listening to music and cooking. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was retired from Palm Beach and was a member of White Oak Baptist Church where she was formerly an Adult Ladies Sunday School Teacher. She was also a foster grandmother at Oakwood and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Our loss is truly Heaven’s eternal gain.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dewayne Ashbrook, James Ashbrook and Norman Ashbrook; brother-in-law, Kenneth Rogers and sister-in-law, Alene Ashbrook.
She is survived by her son, Mike Henderson of Somerset; grandchildren, Joshua Henderson (and Beth) and Jesse Henderson (and Lisa); great-grandchildren, Kailyn Henderson and Kyndal Henderson; brothers, Owen Lee Ashbrook of Mt Orab, Ohio and John (and Vivian) Ashbrook of Nancy; sisters, Nina Jean Rogers of Somerset and Wanda Ashbrook of Nancy; and Joy Henderson who was like a daughter.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Dr. James Floyd officiating.
Burial will be in the Whitis Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Gideons Memorial Bible Plan or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Leeta Ann Ashbrook Henderson.
David, I am so sorry to hear of Ann’s passing. She was a wonderful and very kind person. I know you all will miss her very much but she is not suffering any more, no dementia her mind is very clear now. She is happy with her Lord and loved ones walking on those streets of gold. May God Bless each of you and comfort you at his time. Boyd and I will be praying for the family.
