Irene Catherine Lee, age 71, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
Irene was born on February 7, 1955 to the late Forest Abbott and Jesse Sears Abbott in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and tending to her garden. She loved getting dressed up, going dancing and traveling with her husband, and had been to many states. She was adored by everyone that knew her.
Along with her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her sisters, Diane Bray and Sue Abbott.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 40 years, William Lee, her daughters: Teresa Lee of Russell Springs, Ky and Joy Stigall of Eubank, Ky; brother Hank Abbott of Somerset; sisters: Doris Nevels, Judy Phelps (Jackie), and Dora Abbott; along with grandchildren: Zachery Staab, Vanessa Woodard, Latricia Gibson, and Devion Stigall; great-grandchildren: Brantley Staab, Sable Gibson, Athena Woodard, Sawyer Hughes, Madilyn Stigall, and Weston Stigall.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 11am-1pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1pm with Bro. Tom Spears and Bro. Rob Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Goodwater Cemetery.
