Bonnie Lou Mize, age 79 years, 4 months and 17 days old, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at UK Hospital.
Bonnie was born on March 16, 1947 in Somerset, Kentucky, to William Ernest Ping and Jennie Reynolds Ping.
She was a member of Elrod First Church of God. She enjoyed reading, especially Amish novels. She was an excellent cook, she enjoyed canning, spending time in her garden and traveling to Gatlinburg Tennessee with her husband. Most of all she loved her grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her son James L. Mize, brother William Glenn Ping, and sister Wilda Ping Todd.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons: Charles Randall Mize (Jodi) and Mark Allen Mize (Tabatha), daughter Amber Nicole Mize, sister Janice Ping Loveless (Eugene) all of Somerset; grandchildren: Matthew (Ashle), Kaylee (Cameron), Rebekah (Zach), Rachel, Tyler (April), Austin (Katie), Damian, Nichole, Leslee, Angie, along with 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 10am-12pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral with a funeral service to begin at 12pm with Bro. Clifford Mize officiating. Burial will follow in Woodstock Cemetery.
