Kenneth Edwin Adams, age 80, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Jean Waddle Care Center.
Kenneth was born on April 25, 1946 to the late Orville Adams and Opal Whitaker in Somerset, Kentucky.
He was a devout Christian and member of Pleasant Run Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, fossils and geology, traveling, exploring, was very charismatic, and made friends anywhere he went.
Along with his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brother Denver Adams and stepfather Glen Whitaker.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Barbara Adams, whom he married on February 29, 1980, his children; Richard Hines, Rebecca Adams, and Gretchen Moss all of Somerset; Haley Heter of Wichita, KS, sister Linda Howard (Jeff) all of Somerset; niece Karen Chakraborty, grandchildren: Nick, Tiffany, Thyler, Paxton, Avalon, Amanda, Amber and Jeremy; along with numerous friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 11am-1pm in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with a Celebration of Life service to begin at 1pm with Bro. David Dykes officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Kenneth Edwin Adams.
Kenny will be missed.i was blessed to work and know Kenny for many decades. His knowledge was wide ranging. I never will forget crushing rock or making maple syrup. A true renaissance man who was always willing to share,teach, and assist anyone. thanks for taking great care of him Barbara. He was a unique person. May the words of John’s gospel in chapter five and verses 28 and 29 comfort all who mourn his passing.

So sorry to hear this he was my half brother wish we could have been closer but sometimes life gets in the way so sorry barb and family for youre loss

Yes Judy me too! You were always so nice to me . Ricky and Gretchen both are good people. Gretchen has two daughters. One just finished her Freshman year of college. The other is a Senior in H.S. Gretchen and Ricky work together in HVAC Co. Rick has a kids who he helped raise. The Hines family missed out on Ricky Gretchen.
