Doris “Sis” Maxine Foster, age 86, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Sis was born in Monticello, Kentucky, on June 13, 1939, to the late Kelly Pyles and Amanda Patton Pyles.
She was a member of Jordan Baptist Church of Burnside, Ky. She loved her church, her friends and her family.
Along with her parents, Sis was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray E. Murphy; her late husband, Wendell S. Foster; stepson Ricky Foster, son-in-law, Donald Lee, brothers: Wilburn, Ken, Gibb and Roger and sister Lois Willbrandt.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Kathy M. Lee, brother Jerry Pyles (Christine) and sister Joyce Stinson (Larry); special niece: Rita and Zane Cochran, all of Somerset; along with numerous nieces and nephews, including special nieces: Wanda Kenney, Debbie Mapes, and (her baby girl) Shelly Taylor.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 12pm-2pm in the Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral service to begin at 2pm with Bro. Billy Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Lodge Lexington, Kentucky or Jordan Christian Academy.

Doris (Dorsey) as I always called her was my dear friend and sister in Christ. We became very clise after the passing of my husband in 2007 and she was family. Doris had the most generous,loving heart. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Heart is heavy for Kathy,Rita and family. She’s home at last.
