Mitchell R. Mayfield, age 64, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Mitchell was born on August 9, 1961 to Robert Mayfield and Barbara Lewis in Aurora, Illinois.
He attended First Baptist Church. He received great joy in helping people, he loved animals and enjoyed 4th of July fireworks. He was devoted to his wife, cherished his grandkids and loved his family.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his father, Robert Mayfield. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Julie Mayfield, his mother Barbara of Joliet, IL; son Kristopher (Brenda) Mayfield and special son, Joe (Jenn) Tucker, daughters: Helen (Barry) Weddle, Carrie (Eddie) Miner Hollie (Darren) Banks, brothers: Brian (Nancy) Mayfield, Joe (Jen) Mayfield, Christopher Mayfield, sisters: Cindy (Tim) Hendricks and Julie (Jesse) Martinez, all of Illinois, 7 grandchildren and special God daughter, Hailee.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 5pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 11am at the funeral home with Bro. Darry Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mitchell Mayfield Memorial Fund C/O Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

To Julie and all the family of Mitchell. I could not believe what I seen. He had just hollered at me a week or so while I was outside passing by. He had told me about you being sick. I pray God gives you strength through all of this and of course your sickness. I never will forget him making that manicotti. That might not even be how it was pronounced.Lol🤔He brought us lunch and dinner several times. That was his favorite dish I think which was very delicious. You’re in my prayers.
