Rex Allen Loveless, age 58, of Burnside, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital.
Rex was born on September 1, 1967, to the late Cicero Herbert Loveless and Pauline Adams Loveless in McCreary County, Kentucky.
He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed collecting junk, fishing, and designing panels for solar energy.
Along with his parents, Rex was preceded in death by his brothers: Ricky and Gary Loveless, sisters: Rita Gay Phillips and Vicky Ann Loveless, mother and father-in-law: Stella and Paul Phillips.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Melinda Sue Phillips Loveless, sons: Luke (Melinda) Loveless and Matthew Allen Loveless both of Burnside; brothers: Carroll Dewey Loveless and Chris (Ashley) Loveless both of Somerset, Ky and James (Joyce) Loveless of Monticello, Ky; sister Lois (Tim) Beasley of Science Hill, Ky; grandchildren: Alexis (Dalton) Day and Adaline Loveless; like family: Robert Branscum of Michigan and Joey Branscum of Science Hill; sister-in-law, Kelly Loveless also of Science Hill; along his best friend, his beloved dog “Chester Dewayne”.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 11am in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1pm with Lucas Loveless officiating. Burial will follow in Southern Oaks Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rex Loveless Monument Fund.
