Robert “Bob” Lee Whitman, age 67, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at UK Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Bob was born on May 6, 1958 to the late Alfred Whitman and Donna Hostetler Whitman in Brownsville, Oregon.
He was a member of Modesto Baptist Church in Modesto, California. He enjoyed computers, he was known as the “Funcle”, because he was the fun uncle to his nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers: Richard Whitman and Ronald Whitman.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 48 years, Diane Phillips-Whitman, his son, Robert Berry (Gigi) of Pheonix, AZ; brother Randy Whitman of Houston, TX; grandchildren: Coraleigh Avalon, Ethan Shreeve, and Georgia Shreeve.
Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 4pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends and loved ones after 3pm until the service time. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Robert “Bob” Lee Whitman.
