Robert Danny Hair, age 64 of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away at his home with loved ones by his side.
He was born on August 24, 1961 in Northfield, Kentucky (the Jugornot Community in Pulaski County) to the late Robert C. Hair and Wanda Cook Hair.
Danny was a kind person who was always willing to help those in need. During his teenage years, he worked for local farmers and helped build Jim Walters Homes. Danny graduated from Shopville High School in 1979 and then moved to Sidney, Ohio. In 2008, he moved back to Pulaski County for good. He worked for 40 years in Sidney and Somerset, in manufacturing as a forklift driver. Danny fought cancer for more than 5 years. When he was able, he enjoyed going hunting and fishing. Danny will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Daphane Sears Hair, whom he married on September 19, 1986. She sadly passed away on December 27, 2014.
He is survived by his brother, Ronnie Hair of Science Hill; sisters, Brenda Branscum of Somerset and Mary Hair of Science Hill; nephews, Russell Branscum, Thomas Branscum and Stephen Branscum; great-niece who he thought of as a granddaughter JoJo Branscum; several other great-nieces and nephews, plus numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Perry Dobbs officiating. Burial will follow in Neeley’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Danny Hair Memorial Fund C/O Southern Oaks Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. The family would like to say thank you to Thomas Branscum and Hospice of Cumberland for your special care.
