Betty Jo Thomas Rigney was born on August 17, 1941 in Lebanon, Tennessee to James and Mary Emery Thomas.
Betty married Willie Rigney Jr. on November 23, 1971, they were married 53 years. Betty passed from this life on July 13, 2025.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Rigney Jr., two brothers: Kenneth and James Thomas Jr., one sister-in-law Sylvia Luttrell.
Betty loved her cats and dogs, she had twelve over her lifetime. Each one was very special to her. Betty enjoyed shopping and being with friends, she will be missed by many friends, family and special friends: Pat Muse, Melissa and Shelby Snowdy and Taylor Huston.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents James and Mary Emery Thomas. Two sisters: Barbara and Charlotte.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 11am in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 11:30am with Bro. Adam Owens officiating. Betty will be laid to rest at Mill Springs National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Betty Jo Thomas Rigney.
