Eleanor “Frances” Jones age 90, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life on Monday, June 9, 2025 at Jean Waddle Care Center.
Frances was born on March 24, 1935 to the late Arthur Hansford and Helen Irene Poynter Hansford in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was a member of Pulaski Baptist Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her garden, sewing, and reading, especially Amish books. She cherished her family, loved her church, and was a “Nannie” to many.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar J. Jones “EJ”, parents Arthur and Helen Hansford, brothers: Sherman and Willard Hansford and sister Faye Estep.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son: Rodney Jones (Cathy) of Somerset, Ky; daughters: Carolyn Troxtell of Somerset, Ky and Janice Smith (Blaine) of Science Hill, Ky; sisters: Iva Dean Price of Somerset, Ky and Linda Stevenson (Stan) of Nancy, Ky; along with 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 11am to 1pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1pm with Bro. Adam Dooley and Bro. Stanley Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow in Pulaski Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
