Jesse Wayne Cook departed his earthly home and went to his Heavenly home on April 25, 2025 at 2:30 in the afternoon. Jesse was born on July 26, 1963 to James and Carol Cook in Lincoln Co., Ky.

Jesse married the love of his life, Cindy, on June 2, 1984. They had two children Danielle (Todd) Stewart and Lora (Tiffany) Cook. Jesse had eight living grandchildren: Micah, Nikki, Byson, Keyson, Kaylee, Channing, Paisley and Aspen. Also, two brothers David (Lisa) Cook and Steven (Kathy) Cook.

He was preceded in death by his father James Cook, his grandparents Earnest and Lora Sims, step-father Shello Cook and sister April Cook. He also has a granddaughter, Keyleygh, who was awaiting him in Heaven.

Jesse was a kind, gentle and selfless man who loved his family and friends unconditionally. He was a good husband, father, brother, son, uncle and friend, he never met a stranger, and he spread joy and kindness.

He was employed at Somerset Pest Control for almost 40 years and took pride in his work. He also loved all the people he met mowing yards and tending flower beds around the county.

Jesse was always the one at family gatherings behind the camera, all the while, the one who was aiding in making the fond memories he was catching.

He was a beautiful, joyous soul who made the world a better place with his existence. You could not be around him and not smile.

Heaven is shining brighter, and there is probably more laugher among the angels as Jesse is probably telling a story in a way that only he could do.

Pallbearers will be his coworkers from Somerset Pest Control, and Brother Rob Freeman will be conducting the services at Southern Oaks Funeral home on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm with funeral service to begin at 1pm with burial to follow at Pond Cemetery in Lincoln County, Ky. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Jesse Wayne Cook.
