Jerry “JC” Tucker, age 71, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on July 7, 1953 in Burnside, Kentucky, son of the late Arthur Tucker and Mildred Taylor.
He was an entrepreneur and the founder, owner and operator of JC Tucker Concrete. He was a member of the Burnside Masonic Lodge #634, the Burnside Historical Committee, and on the Dream Big Burnside Committee. JC attended Life Church and was currently the Chairman for the Republican Precinct. JC was more than just a man; he was the hero and cornerstone of the Tucker family, with God always faithfully by his side. He led his family with unwavering love, grace, and boundless support. As the ultimate cheerleader, he was deeply involved in every detail of his children’s and grandchildren’s lives. A true reflection of God’s love, JC was always willing to give everything he had to those around him. He selflessly served his community and found ultimate joy in seeing others succeed. You never saw him without a smile, a smile that could change the trajectory of your day. His family was his life’s purpose and is his legacy that will continue to live on for years to come. A piece of him will always be embedded in the hearts of his loved ones. Knowing him at all was an honor, but knowing him as a Husband, Dad, or Pawpaw was the ultimate honor. There will never be another like him, but every day is a day to strive to make him proud.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a stepbrother, Wayne Cox. He is survived by his wife, Della Tucker, whom he married on July 13, 1974 at Denham Street Baptist Church; his son, Jason (Daphne) Tucker of the Slate Branch Community; Carrie (Seth) Atwell of Somerset; brothers, Charles (Charlotte) Tucker of Clifton, TN, Larry “LK” (Debbie) Tucker of Somerset and stepbrother, Steve Cox of TN; a sister, Jenny Lou (Darrell) Morris of Somerset; grandkids, Zach Atwell, Riley Whitis, Morgan Whitis, Mason Atwell, Colton Tucker, Emily Kate Tucker and Lily June Tucker; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, a Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Isaiah Super officiating. Masonic Service Rights will be conducted by Burnside Masonic Lodge #634 at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Southern Oaks Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Zach Atwell, Mason Atwell, Riley Whitis, Colton Tucker, Shawn Tucker, Bobby Gumm, Boyd Jeff Colyer and Johnny Vaughn.

Deepest condolences to the family. JT was a great and fun person. I’ll always remember the trips to Lexington for KY basketball. He loved the big blue and yard sales as I remember
