Listen to the Obituary
Anne Marie Bach, age 81, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on January 21, 1944, to the late Rudolph G. and Ann Marie Ilijin in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Alongside her husband she was the owner of Kis Photo. Here she made everyone that came through the door feel like family. She was the kind of person you don’t just remember, you feel her, even when she’s not there. She was never just in the background; she filled every space with her voice, her laughter, and her endless stories. She was a light. The kind you don’t realize you’ve been living until it’s gone. She lived deeply and fully. Never halfway. She loved and cared for anything living. She brought plants back from despair and fed each and every stray or wild animal she came across. She had the biggest, sweet tooth, a love for cookies, sweet and chai tea that never faded. She always had jokes, usually ones she laughed at before she even finished telling them. She had a way of keeping our family connected, making sure we all knew our distant relatives and even trying to gift everyone with an Ancestory.com subscription. She had a fun, colorful taste in earrings that somehow suited her perfectly. She loved painting, creating, and putting beauty in the world. Without a doubt the most beautiful thing she ever created was the love she left behind. She was an expert at advice. She taught her grandchildren how to protect their hearts and never settle for anything less than they deserve.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Ernest Bach, Jr; two sons that she adored, Chris (Jami) Bach and Jake (Teresa) Bach; five grandchildren, Sabryn (Jake) Hudson, Christian (Cameron) Bach, Caden Bach, Jaselyn Bach and Talara Marie Bach; one great grandchild, Wells Hudson; sister, Denise Marie Ilijin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sibling Rudolph G. Ilijin, Jr.
The family has chosen to celebrate her life privately.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Anne Marie Bach.

Anne was a very friendly and outgoing person. She always made me feel so important by hanging some of my photos in their photo shop! I always remember her encouraging words. She always had a smile on her face. I thought the world of Anne.
Anne was like a 2nd mother to me after I lost my mom in 2009. I would call her every so often to check on her, enjoying nice, long conversations… her giving me some great motherly advice when I needed it the most. I will miss our conversations, Anne… I will miss you deeply. Praying for Earnie, Chris, Jake and their families. She was one of the best!
