Danny Lee Whitaker age 58, of Somerset, Kentucky was born on October 9, 1966, passed away Sunday, March, 16, 2025.

He is survived by his mother Iva Dean Wallace (Jim), sisters Sheila Meece (Bill), Hope Simpson (David). One brother, Jay Whitaker (Nadine) and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Nelson Whitaker. Two brothers, Paul Whitaker and Robert Bruce Whitaker, Three sisters, Alberta Butler, Beulah Whitaker and Fern Pruitt, maternal grandparents, Evelyn Trett and Luther Trett, paternal grandparents, Dan and Mary Whitaker.

Danny was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Danny’s favorite holiday was the 4th of July. Each year he always had spectacular fireworks show. He loved gardening and landscaping. He spent lots of time playing guitar with his cousins. He loved his Jeep and his German Shephard “Saphire”. He loved drawing, especially for his great-nephew, Rhett. He loved his old orange cat “Kit Littles”. He was the best dog sitter for “Beau” and “Cash”. He loved unconditionally and would give you the shirt off his back. He put everyone’s needs before his own. He was loved by all and will be missed greatly by all. He loved fishing. Danny was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He was born in the Shopville Community. He resided in Science Hill at the time of death.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 6-8pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Danny Lee Whitaker Memorial Fund C/O Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

 A Private family burial will be held at Acorn Cemetery.
