Doris Ellen Greene, age 89 of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
She was born on February 7, 1936 in Pocahontas, Arkansas, daughter of the late Doswald Eldon and Beulah Mae Phillips Knotts.
She was a retired federal worker at the Social Security Administration in Somerset and was a member of Langdon Street Baptist Church. She loved being involved in her church and loved her family and friends. Doris never met a stranger, and her generous heart was open to everyone. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Greene; brother, Ezra Eldon Knotts; and sisters, Bernice Williams and Dorothy Sue Green. She is survived by son, George Gregory (Ella Renee) Greene; daughter, Pamela Kay (Larry) Flynn; brother, Donald James Knotts; sisters, Sharon Kay Hanners, Janice Christine Johnson and Margaret Ann Davis; grandchildren, William Gregory (Anne) Hammond, Katie Lynn Greene and Emma Aleah Faith Greene; and a host of family, friends, nieces and nephews, including her dear family at Crestview.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
