Judith Ann Phillippi, age 80, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, the Jean Waddle Care Center.
Judith was born on July 29, 1944 to the late Denzil Burton and Christine Coomer Hughes in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was of the Disciples of Christ faith and was a member of First Christian Church of Somerset. She served as a deacon and elder and was on multiple committees. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband Gene, they traveled to every state but 2. She lived for her family and did everything for them she possibly could. She was an amazing cook and a natural homemaker.
Judith was preceded in death along with her parents, her husband Gene Phillippi.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son Jeff Phillippi (Leisa) and daughter, Kristi Kennedy (Kevin) all of Somerset, Ky, sisters: Mary Whitaker (Gary) of Somerset, Ky; Lewanne Harness (Eugene) of Nancy, Ky; Becky Woosley (Larry) of Leitchfield, Ky; Kathy Dalton (Virgil) of South Amherst, OH; grandchildren: Allison Drake (Ben) and Dylan Phillippi (Shannon) all of Lexington, Ky; Rachel Hunley and Alex Hunley both of Somerset, Ky.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 5pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 11am at the funeral home with Bro. Braxton King officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Christian Church of Somerset and Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

Judy was a beautiful cousin of mine inside and out. She was always smiling and laughing. A beautiful trait she was given by her Dear Mother Christine. She was always so nice to me and I’m sure anyone who knew Judy would tell you the same. Kristi and Jeff you had wonderful parents. I love you both.

Judy was a very sweet person talk to her several times times at the cemetery she would be visiting Gene when l would be visiting my husband we were very lonely ladies she is at peace with Gene they were wonderful neighbors also .prayers for her children and grandchildren
My sincere condolences to Judy’s family. Judy and I were
proud Briar Jumpers , Class of 1962. She played a vital role in our
class reunions over many years.
