Deward “Jack” Melvin Brown, age 89, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family at Medical Center hospital in Bowling Green, Saturday January 4, 2025.
Jack was born January 24,1935 to Nora and Melvin Brown in Anchor, Illinois. He was a member of Parker’s Mill Road Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky. Jack proudly served his country as a member of the US Army for 4 years and retired from Crane Company after 32 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, making one of a kind creations and spending time with pets and family.
He leaves behind his wife, Lois Ann Brown; a son, Jeffery (Tina) Brown; grandchildren, Ashley Brown and Marissa Brown; sisters Juanita Pittman, Kay Edwards, Shirley Stewart, Phyllis Stanley, Betty Anne Hudson, Vicky Richardson; and brother Dale Tomlinson.
He is preceded in death by his parents Nora Tomlinson and Melvin Brown; and sisters Marceen Meece and Wilma Jean Pyles.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, January 10, 2025 at Southern Oaks funeral home, officiated by Bro. Darry Hatfield.
Burial will follow at Somerset Cemetery.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Southern Oaks funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society.
