Gary Eugene Baker, age 62 of Amelia, Ohio, formerly of Faubush, Kentucky, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
He was born on February 7, 1962 in Lima, Ohio, son of the late Leonard L. and Dempsy Daulton Baker. He worked for Advance Printing Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, mowing his yard and traveling. He loved watching football, especially Tampa Buccaneers. Gary was a hard worker who loved his family and cherished his grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Tammy Letner Baker; daughter, Amber Baker of Cincinnati, Ohio; sons, Gary Baker, Jr. and Michael Clark, both of Cincinnati, OH; brothers, J.C. (Dianne) Nevels of TN, Duane (Patsy) Nevels of Bronston, Ronald Baker of Burnside and Darrell Baker (Judith Mitchell) of Eubank; grandchildren, Baby Gary Baker, Grayson Baker, Malachi O’Brien and Fur Baby “Epi Baker”’ and his mother-in-law whom he loved like a mother, Loretta Perry.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Bell officiating. Burial will be in the Tarter Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the St Jude Children’s Hospital.
