Marjorie Ann Claxton, age 90, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed from this life on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Marjorie was born on February 11, 1934 to the late Lynn Weldy and Hazel Weldy in Ohio.
She attended Word A Blaze Church and was of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed making dresses, animals and cooking, especially her bread.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Winford Claxton, her parents, Lynn and Hazel Weldy, son Richard Yonker, daughter Susan Johannesen, brother Donald Weldy and sister Audrey Phipps.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons: Wade Whisenant of Somerset, Ky; Perry Norton Whisenant of Science Hill, Ky; Robert Yonker of IN; granddaughters: Shelly Lawhorn (Ronnie), Alma Grey, Gabe Yonker, Samantha Yonker, Valarie Yonker, Amanda Yonker, Allissa Thacker, Crystal Flynn, grandsons: Joshua Zachary, Cody Whisenant, Cody Yonker and Chris Whisenant.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 11am to 12 noon in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1pm with Bro. Bobby Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Marjorie Ann Claxton Memorial Fund. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Marjorie Ann Claxton.
Shelly and Josh and all the family. Sister Claxton was a wonderful woman of God. She was always the same with her sweet humble spirit. She often came to the church that I attended and I would take her home at different times and pick her up. She loved worshipping and she loved Jesus. I love you guys.
