Edward William Ping, “Eddie Bill”, age 75, of Somerset, KY passed from this life on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at University of Kentucky Hospital.
Eddie Bill was born on July 22, 1949 to Herbert William Ping and Edith Cooper. He was a beloved husband to his wife, Janie Ping. They were married for 50 years and loved each other deeply.
Eddie Bill was a son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed his grandchildren and watching and supporting them in all their sports and activities. He was a huge Kentucky Wildcat, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cincinnati Reds fan and loved watching the games with family. He was a hard worker, devoted husband, wonderful father, papaw, and great-grandpa.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edith Ping, his father, Herbert William Ping and his son, Andrew Ping (fiancé Jessica Davis).
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Janie Ping, sons: Edward Ping, Ashley Ping, Austin Ping (Mari Mounce), daughters: Gretchen (Larry) Ramsey, Meredith (Trampus) Sandidge of MO, Lindsey (Wesley) Finley, grandchildren: Dermot (Colin) Cunningham, Patrick (Paddy) Cunningham, Richie Cunningham, Mary Cunningham, Oliver Davis, Colton Ramsey, Cabryn Ping, Brayden Ping, Braxtyn Ping, Grayson Ping, Tucker Sandidge, Taylor Sandidge, Aden Ping, Emjay Ping, Spencer Ping, Zane Ping, Ellie June Finley, Case Finley, Clover Cunningham and Meadow Cunningham.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 10am to 12pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 12pm. Burial will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Edward William Ping Memorial Fund.
Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Honor Guard Post#38. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Edward William Ping.

Sorry of the news of Eddie’s death. Eddie was a great guy, enjoyed a long friendship during high school and friendship of his family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

He was a classmate at Ferguson Hi School. I remember how cute he was as a little boy.
