Ray Walker Rose, age 79 passed away on November 25, 2024 at this home.
Ray was born at his home in the White Lily Community of Pulaski, Ky on November 29, 1944, the son of the late James Dressler and Luradell Vanover Rose.
Ray was the youngest of 14 siblings, all of whom passed previously. Ray was a simple man who never lived above his raising, he was always there to help anyone in need. His interests were riding horses, fox hunting, but he’ll tell you his greatest accomplishment was winning the heart of his sweetheart Nancy Carter, whom passed in 2018. They were inseparable and sweethearts for over 45 years, and he never stopped mourning her.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Albert, Harvey, Everett, Jimmie and Fred, sisters: Loretta Rose, Bessie Rose, Coralee Meece, Mary Lyons, Margaret Jones, Ella Mae Saylors, Irene Meece and Marie Gregory.
Ray will be missed by many friends, numerous nieces and nephews, especially nieces and caregivers, Ruth Bingham and Linda Dowell and nephew Adrian Lyons.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 11am to 1pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be follow at 1pm with Bro. Dalous Sears officiating.
Ray will be laid to rest beside his sweetheart in the Sweet Cemetery in the Pointer Community in Nancy, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ray’s funeral expenses in care of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Ray Walker Rose.
