Donald Lee Calder, age 92, of Somerset, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2024 with family by his side. He was born to the late Curtis Allen Calder and Hattie Bell Wilson Calder on March 31, 1932 in Wheeldon, Kentucky. He married Margaret Ann Burns Calder on March 11, 1956.
 He was a retiree from Eldridge/Jones Transfer Truck Line. Donald joined the U.S. Navy on November 14,1951. He served during the Korean War on the USS Satyr aircraft repair ship. He was honored to serve 16+ years on the Western Pulaski County Water Board.
 Don, as his many friends/family called him, enjoyed horses and took pleasure in restoring antique cars. He was respected for his wisdom and appreciated for his strength. He took joy in hearing his grandson and great-grandchildren call him “Papaw”.
 Most importantly, Don was a born again Christian.  Saved by God’s grace. He was a long time member of Saline Baptist Church.  Don had the privilege to serve on a mission trip to Mexico which broadened his perspective of life in other parts of the world.
 He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister (Irene Powers); one brother (Charles V. Calder); three sisters-in-law, (Polly Jane Burns, Brenda Burns, Shirley May Bowling); two brothers-in-law (Russell Wall, Johnny Bowling). Don was an honorary father to one nephew (Ricky Bowling) and two brothers-in-law (Thomas C. Burns, Joseph Burn) that preceded him in death.
 Don is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margaret Ann Burns Calder; Daughter, Cindy Jo (Michael) Smith; Grandson, Chad Lee (April) Williams; Three Great-Granddaughters: Addison Chloe Williams, Kinley Dawn Williams, Anna Rose Williams; Granddaughter, Dana Elaine Smith Ritchie; three Great-Grandsons: Jordon Tyler Ritchie, Andrew Chase Ritchie, Michael Cole Ritchie; Two Sisters: Chestina Wall, JoAnn Rader; and one Brother, Roger (Carol) Calder; Two sisters-in-law: Sandra Calder and Marilyn Burns. Many nieces and nephews. And very special friends that he thought of highly, Barry and Angela Dixon.
Visitataion will be on November 8, 2024 from 1 to 3pm at Saline Baptist Church with a funeral service to begin at 3pm with Bro. Trevor Reynolds and Dr. J. Barry Dixon officiating. Burial service will be at Southern Oaks Cemetery. 
Pallbearers: Jackie Glover, Mark Wall, Doug Burns, Corey Dixon, Adam Dixon, Seth Dixon.
Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Honor Guard Post #38.
