Chester Dick was an awesome man! Always so helpful and kind and so knowledgeable. He was always doing stuff for others. Known him since 2014. When I first moved to Eubank, he saw me push mowing my yard because my riding mower had tore up. He came over with his tractor and said put that up this will only take a few minutes and made several swipes and completed my yard. That was 1 of many things he done for me and my family. In the winter months, he plowed our driveways and the whole road. He gave advice about gardening tips. Always enjoyed talking with him. Whether walking in the yard or passing on the road would always speak to a person. Another time I had headed to town and I had pulled off on side of the road for a phone call and he was passing thru and stopped to see if I needed help or if my vehicle had broke down. This man is one of a kind and will definitely be missed by all. Every since Sunday of hearing of his passing, it saddens me for the loss of a great neighbor and is even more sad for his family that they lost this great man. Prayers for peace and comfort and healing for the family and community.
In 1996 my daughter had just graduated high school, her car quit on her while she was on her way home from a job she had just got since graduating high school Chester stopped his wrecker, and ask her what had happened. She told him her car had quit on her, and after he looked underneath the hood, he said that the car needed to be towed home. She didn’t have enough money with her to pay for a tow truck and we live all the way down in McCreary county down in the country, Chester said no problem young lady, you don’t need to be out here all alone by yourself so he loaded her car up on his wrecker and brought her car and her all the way home in McCreary county and refused to take a penny for it. My husband and I tried our best to pay him and he refused to take any money. This man was one of a kind and so kind to our daughter, when she was so young and alone sitting on the side of the highway stranded, it breaks my heart hearing of this happening, and of course it broke her heart hearing about it too. I cannot begin to put into words what a wonderful man that Chester was, I know the gates of Heaven have swung wide open for him. I pray for comfort for his children and his fiancé. I am so very sorry for their great loss. Should I say I am so sorry for all of our great loss. Chester will be forever missed . We need more Chesters in this world.
