Christine Diane Pruett, know as a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, age 72, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed unexpectedly from this life on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Christine was born on January 8, 1952 to Merton Stone and Audrey Drummer Strough in Syracuse, New York.  She retired from the Pulaski County Board of Education and had served her country as Staff Seargent in the U.S. Army from 1976-1990.

Being of Christian faith, she enjoyed camping, watching TV with her loving husband, traveling, the beach and taking care of everyone else. She absolutely loved and cherished her family, especially her beloved dog “Pepper. She cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed celebrating holiday dinners and family gatherings. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.  She was very proud of her boy’s patriotism and sacrifice for this country.   

Christine was preceded in death by her father, Merton Stone and a sister, Pamela Arms.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 50 wonderful years, Samuel Pruett, her mom and dad, Audrey and William “Bill” Strough, sons: Daniel J. Pruett (Evon), Jason J. Pruett (Megan), Samuel A. Pruett III (Barbara) all of Somerset, KY and Ryan C. Pruett (Krystal) of Lafayette, IN; daughter, Jeanette M. Dominguez (Thomas) of IA; brother, Michael Stone of NH; sisters: Debra Radish of Somerset, KY; Laureen Tower (Bryan) of Louisville, KY: Cheryl Wilson (Fahron) of Knoxville, TN; grandsons: Samuel A. Pruett IV, Reeves M Pruett, Jaxson Dominguez, Kory Augustine, granddaughters: Katie Nalle, Haylie Pruett, Abbi Dominguez, Skyler Pruett, Taylor Pruett, Kylie Pruett, Gabby Pruett, Alison Pruett, great-grandsons: Mason Augustine and Cason Nalle; along with one great-granddaughter on the way.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 11am in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1pm with Bro. Greg Horihan officiating. A burial will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Christine Pruett.
