Janice Dean Meece (Tomlison) Mounce, departed this life on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, having attained the age of 76. She was born October 22, 1947 to the late Othnel and Armelda Dykes Meece. Upon her death, she had spent the last 4 years of her life with husband, Lonnie Eli (LE) Mounce. Although their time together was short, they filled each day with a special love and happiness.

Janice was of the Baptist Faith and a long-time member of Colo Baptist Church. She enjoyed decorating and making things beautiful, gardening, and going to church. She, also, enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Janice was born and raised in Somerset, KY. She spent her younger years growing up with her siblings. Among those siblings, she had 3 sisters, including: Judy (Jackie) Mounce, Rosetta Miller, and Melissa Meece (Jeffery Davis). She, also, had 2 brothers: Dewayne Meece and Ivan Lee Meece (who precedes her). Other survivors include: 3 sister-in-laws: Jane (Dennis) Gragg, Judy FitzSimons, and Gay (Ronnie) Brinson.

Janice became a mother at the age of 21 and raised 3 children, including: 2 daughters- Kelly (Anthony) Nicholas and Lucinda (Steve) Daulton. Along with 1 son, Larry (Michelle) Glover. She also had the privilege of being a bonus mom to the following 4 boys: Jewell (Sherry) Tomlison, Scott (Dreama) Tomlison, Josh (Sara) Mounce, and Jacob (Katelyn) Mounce.

She was the best mama to many grandchildren and great- grandchildren.  

Janice was preceded in death by the following: Her parents- Othnel and Armelda Dykes Meece, Brother- Ivan Lee Meece, Brother-in-law- Bill Miller, Sister-in-law- Kay Meece, Grandson- Jordan Keith Tomlison, Great-grandson- Avery Eli Rhode, and one nephew- Shannon Meece.

Services for Janice will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home, with Bro. David Bullock officiating. The family will be accepting visitors from 11:30-2:00. The funeral services will begin at 2:00. Janice will be laid to rest at the White Lily Cemtery, beside her late husband, Dewey Tomlison.

Pallbearers will include: Hunter Glover, Joshua Blevins, Xander Hyden, Keilin Holts, Sabastian Rhode, Ethan Ware, and Anthony Godbey.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
