Ruby Hammond, age 76, of Alpha, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky.

Ruby was born on June 6, 1948 to the late Sherman Morrow and Elsie Bray Morrow in Kidder, Kentucky.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, loved her flowers, loved to garden and loved bluegrass music.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Hulon Hammond, her parents, Sherman and Elsie Morrow, son, Michael Morrow, brothers: Floyd Morrow and Jackie Morrow, sisters: Lena Phillips, Grace Gilmore and Irene Stump and daughter in law, Deb Gilmore.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons: Howard Dwight Gilmore of Bronston, Ky; Danny Lee Gilmore (Beverly) of Russell Springs, Ky; daughters: Elsie Rose Gilmore (Norman) of Monticello, Ky; Cammy Hanft (Jon) of North Royalton, OH: Mara Dishman of Alpha, Ky; brothers: Amos Morrow of Bean Station, TN; Dallas Morrow of Waynesburg, Ky; sisters: Estelle Rush of Bedford, IN; Imogene Bell of Somerset, Ky; Lois Dixon of Monticello, Ky; grandchildren: Matthew Neely, Britney Rogers, Clarissa Roberts, Stephen Carrender, Ashley Shepard, Teneika Henderson, Kyle Gilmore, Mark Gilmore, Emily Dishman, Michael Morrow Jr., Felicia Kramer, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 11am to 1pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1pm with Bro. Jimmy Nevels officiating. Burial will follow in Mayfield Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements for Ruby Hammond.
