Edward Dwayne Gaines, age 63, of Nancy, Kentucky passed from this life on Friday, July 19, 2024 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Edward was born on May 11, 1961 to the late Leo Gaines and Thelma Griffin Gaines in Somerset, Kentucky.
He was of the Baptist faith. He loved fishing, hunting, working on cars, motorcycles, watching TV, playing games and especially spending time with family.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Darneda Gaines, his parents, Leo and Thelma Gaines, brother, James Gaines, sister Linda Sue Morrow, brother in laws, Ronald Burton and Rondal Bray and granddaughter, Jessalyn Davis.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Sally Gaines, sons: Kenneth Gaines of Liberty, Ky and Cody Gaines of Eubank, Ky; daughters: Jessica Gaines Ramos Lopez (Juan), Delcena Gaines all of Somerset, Ky; Jennifer Gaines of Richmond, Ky; sisters: Doris Crabtree (Ronnie) of Eubank, KY; Glenda Griffin of Somerset, Ky, Wilmouth Bray of Somerset, Ky; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; along with Elijah Couch whom he loved like a son.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 5 to 8pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 12pm with Bro. Dewey Killen officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Edward Dwayne Gaines Memorial Fund C/O Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
