Gladys M. Tucker, was born January 18, and passed peacefully at home on June 20, 2024 surrounded by her daughters.
She was born in Science Hill, Ky. to John and Lizzie Hendricks and was the youngest of siblings to Ona Linkes, Faye Leigh, Curtis Hendricks, Ruth Hendricks, Howard Hendricks and Oran Shadoan. She was married to O.C. Tucker Jr. and the bookkeeper for Tucker’s Garage.
Mrs. Tucker was the loving mother to her ABC’s, Alice, Beth and Carol and second mother to her beloved son-in-law, Gary Daulton.
She enjoyed many delightful years as Memaw to Lauren (Whit Calhoun), Abbey (Joel Ward) and Drew (Erin Daulton) including but certainly not limited to sewing for their dolls, riding go-carts, cooking lots of bacon and sausage balls. Her face continued to light up seeing her four great grandchildren, Piper and Sutton Calhoun, Noah Ward and Beau Daulton.
Mrs. Tucker loved to read her library books and her Bible. She enjoyed sewing crafts from quilting to making dolls, growing zinneas, vegetables and even riding a bicycle built for two with her girls. She was an excellent cook known in the family for her fried apple pies, meatballs and pineapple danish.
A special thank you to her caregivers, Stephanie, Marilyn, Doris and Donna. Mrs. Tucker formed friendships unique to each relationship, and was treated with respect, dignity and love. She looked forwarded to seeing each one of them. The family is immensely grateful for these ladies.
Mrs. Tucker was laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Pulaski County public library and Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements for Gladys M. Tucker.
So sorry to hear of her passing. Enjoyed caring for her and OC. She will be missed
